Morphy Richards irons out issues in supply chain management

The final phase of a warehousing and supply chain system created by Agility Systems has now gone live at electricals manufacturing giant Morphy Richards.

Last year, Morphy Richards signed a £250,000, three-phase contract with Agility, part of SSI-owner Chelford, for its iLink middleware to help the firm track, manage and distribute its electrical products – and the former says that it has already seen substantial cost savings. Savings have been made through advanced warehouse management, transaction dual cycling, accurate identification and location of stock, as well as efficient picking processes underpinned by Agility pallet tracking systems. Morphy Richards IT director Trevor Burrows says: “The implementation has enabled us to make significant cost savings during the last 12 months, as well as significant productivity improvements in our warehouse operations.” Simon Storey, business development director at Agility, adds: “Prior to the agreement, Morphy Richards already had an effective logistics system in place, but Agility’s solution means that the company can now process stock movements and track stock far more effectively. We are working with the company to discuss other ways in which its logistical operations could benefit from further use of our solution.”
