Chelford Group, which owns process ERP developer SSI, is to acquire supply chain execution and warehousing software firm Agility for £3.8m. The company, which has partnered with ERP vendors including Geac, JD Edwards and SSA, particularly in the CPG (consumer packaged goods) and transport and logistics markets, brings useful RFID data capture technology. Agility customers include Exel Logistics, Morphy Richards, Sara Lee, Courtaulds and BAE Aerospace. Chelford CEO Trevor Lewis says it’s a useful step forward, both for SSI customers and those of its SAP Division. “Agility extends the group’s reach within ERP software and adds RFID capability at a time when a strong upsurge in demand for this technology is expected within the supply chain and distribution market.”
