17 September, London. The CBI's Industrial Future Dinner – formerly the manufacturing dinner – is part of its campaign to rebalance the economy.

The CBI Industrial Future dinner, held in association with Tata, will take place on Monday, September 17, at the Honourable Artillery Company in London. It replaces the well-established Manufacturing Dinner and forms an important part of the CBI's efforts to realise the UK's industrial growth potential. UK business wants to help develop a strategy for our future industrial success that keeps the country at the cutting edge of international competitiveness across a range of sectors. What is needed is a new form of industrial policy – one that signals ambition, helps develop future capabilities and secures sustainable growth. The CBI's vision is to create a world-leading industrial ecosystem in the UK – building on strategic opportunities and areas of comparative advantage. Such a strategy needs to be at the heart of the UK's plans for growth and will help achieve our national ambition to rebalance the economy. Indeed, on the day of the dinner the CBI will share our latest policy recommendations for building a brighter industrial future. Join John Cridland, the CBI director-general, Dr Ralf Speth, the CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, Rt Hon Vince Cable MP and distinguished guests for what we are sure will be a great evening and an excellent opportunity to network with peers and entertain clients.
