Acrovision launches direct part marking web resource

Automatic identification technologies specialist Acrovision has launched a direct part marking and identification (DPMI) website ( www.directpartmark.co.uk ) to provide information, advice and product data.

As OEMs, especially in the aerospace, automotive, electronic and medical markets, increasingly require suppliers to mark components and subassemblies with data matrix codes, Acrovision says its new site is aimed at helping them to maximise the benefits from DPMI technologies. The firm makes the point that DPMI is capable of more than providing for serialisation. “It provides ‘cradle to grave’ traceability of product, and can improve the manufacturing process and reduce overall manufacturing costs through rapid identification of quality defects, automatic data collection and logging and elimination of manual data entry – and therefore human error,” says a spokesperson. But there are choices: and hence this company’s services, which extend from advising on best marking methods, including the application and accurate verification of codes being marked, to reading equipment choices and the rest.
