Process industry manufacturers will be interested to learn that Infor has launched an upgrade to its Adage platform-independent ERP system.
The latest version, Adage 5.0, includes a new graphical user interface, more functionality for the ‘order to cash’ cycle and expanded integration capabilities with external systems.
Aimed at batch process manufacturers, its functionality focuses on food and beverage, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and consumer packaged goods.
For example, Adage supports local regulatory, compliance, language and currency requirements for global businesses with multiple facilities or wholly-owned subsidiaries.
“Process manufacturers face pressures from globalisation, regulatory compliance complexity and the need for more effective quality management,” says Infor vice president of Industry & Product Marketing, Mike Frichol. “With these enhancements, Adage continues to ensure compliance, collaboration and information transparency across extended supply chains – a necessity for businesses seeking to improve the flow of goods, eliminate waste and gain efficiencies.”
“Millions of dollars in annual revenues are in jeopardy because traditional management processes and financial systems do not provide the visibility required to achieve operational efficiency,” adds Cindy Jutras, vice president and research director of Manufacturing at analyst Aberdeen Group “Best in class companies are turning to technology to help them improve the order to cash process which can increase operational performance, drive shorter lead times and help them respond to competitive pressures.”
Adage 5.0 includes integration with complementary applications, such as PLM (product lifecycle management), enterprise asset management and warehouse management, which Infor claims allow companies to develop and introduce new products with higher margins and manage complex inventory and manufacturing requirements.
