Advanced shopfloor planning and scheduling specialist Preactor is now claiming more than 2,300 installations of its software for manufacturers around the world.
CEO Mike Novels says that the company has just passed the 450 implementations mark in EMEA, 300 in the US, 200 in Latin America and 150 in Asia Pacific.
The news follows Preactor’s launch of its French subsidiary, Preactor Europe, based in Lyon – building, he says, on more than 200 implementations in that country alone.
Several sectors are showing strong growth, he says, despite the world economic slowdown, citing food and pharmaceuticals, plastics and rubber, as well as the automotive and aerospace industries. Also, metals and metal fabrications, Preactor’s most successful sector, has apparently now passed its 250th implementation.
“It is precisely when margins are squeezed and manufacturers have to extract ever greater levels of efficiency from their production processes, that production planning and scheduling can reveal itself as the weakest link,” says Novels.
“The challenges are certainly real but more than ever, having control of your production planning and scheduling can make the difference, not just to whether you survive or not, but also to ensuring you remain competitive both now and in the future,” he adds.
