British Rototherm measures up for growth with Infor ERP

British Rototherm managing director Oliver Conger says that the company has embarked on an organic growth strategy to become a £50m business within the next four years. "With such an opportunity for growth in the market, the fact that we export to 90 countries and our massive product portfolio, we have faced the challenge of incredible complexity in our drive to build this business," states Conger. And he adds: "Our investment in ERP Business has been about establishing a core foundation with which to manage this complexity and build the business from, along with raising the bar for customer service across our industry." Conger says the Infor system was delivered on-time and to-budget, adding that he expects it to result in standardisation across the business, while also providing a foundation for growth and improving productivity and customer service. He cites strong integration between ERP Business and engineering software as one of the drivers, allowing British Rototherm to produce bespoke drawings and detailed cost breakdowns fast – so allowing a rapid response to customer enquiries. "We expect significant productivity gains as we will be able to configure customised solutions quicker than any comparable instrumentation company in the market," asserts Conger. "The objective is to achieve lead times that are at the forefront of the industry, improving customer service. This means ERP Business will become a key part of British Rototherm's competitive differentiation." And in pursuit of those requirements, aspects such as order entry and preparation of documentation for both customers and the operations will now be semi-automated, significantly reducing the administration time involved. Further, it appears that the analysis and search functionality of ERP Business was another crucial factor in the selection process. British Rototherm will be using these facilities to drill down into operations and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies within its multiple manufacturing operations. Following the initial deployment in South Wales, British Rototherm will roll out ERP Business to its other UK manufacturing sites and then its international offices starting with Ireland, Australia, and Colombia.
