US-based Caterpillar equipment dealer Butler Machinery says it expects to improve efficiency and support growth targets using Lawson's Equipment Service Management and Rental suite.
The software, which is designed for heavy equipment manufacturers, distributors and rental companies, will be augmented with Lawson HR management system.
Twylah Blotsky, director of IT, marketing and Six Sigma for Butler Machinery, says it's all about helping to support its expanding operations, improving visibility of business performance and optimising customer service.
He explains that Butler went through the Lawson Value Assessment process to identify and quantify potential benefits while also reviewing KPIs.
Implementing the new system and creating a "single source of truth" will help, he says, support Butler's field service, sales, rental and parts operations, while also supporting its financial and supply chain management.
"With the current economic situation, we feel that this is the right time to invest in a new business system," says Blotsky.
"We need to be better positioned to manage our business for the current climate as well as future growth. The Lawson Value Assessment helped minimise Butler's potential risk related to this investment and demonstrated the potential business benefits we may see from this new platform."
