French fashion house Celio says it’s seeing an increase in design productivity and speed-to-market, following roll-out of its new PLM (product lifecycle management) system, from Infor.
Francois Messager, director of organisation and information systems at Celio, says it selected Infor PLM primarily to streamline the development cycle of new product launches and improve management at all stages of garment design.
“We wanted the company’s departments, suppliers and subcontractors to share and maintain information at all stages of the design process within a single PDM database,” he explains.”
Messager says that the company conducted extensive vendor research, including user trials, before selecting Infor PLM, adding that the ability to deploy a comprehensive, standard version of the solution, without the need for bespoke development, was key.
“Infor PLM Runtime has already helped us adapt our working processes to become more collaborative and transparent in the way we work both internally, and with members of our extended supply chain,” he continues.
“All of our designers now have secure access to the PDM database. This provides a single data source for drawings, forms, schedules and technical change orders.”
And the result, he says, is not only time and cost savings, but better quality and faster time-to-market “by creating new products right first time, without expensive design faults.”
Messager reports that Celio is now working with Infor on a new project to develop and automate system interfaces – aimed at providing better visibility by linking Infor PLM Runtime with Celio’s ERP and planning and supply chain management.
