Keith Goffin, Professor of Innovation and New Product Development at Cranfield School of Management is to provide the keynote address at September’s Manufacturing Leaders Club meeting.
The meeting is being held on the morning of 19 September at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, ahead of the prestigious Best Factory Gala Awards presentations and lunch, and will address one of UK manufacturing’s greatest needs – its requirement for new product design and innovation as a route to survival and prosperity in a globalised environment.
With the help of Keith Goffin’s strategic analysis and real life case studies, including a presentation from Johnson Matthey R&D Director Peter Williams, the morning will be spent learning how that future might be assured.
Goffin, who is also co-author of ‘Innovation Management, worked on new product development for the Medical Products Group of Hewlett-Packard for 14 years. His subsequent research has been applied at companies, including Ford, British Aerospace, and NCR.
At Cranfield, he lectures on the MBA, doctorate, and Executive Programmes and has developed a number of new courses on innovation management.
His current research interests are innovation leadership and strategy, project-to-project learning in R&D, and enhanced methods for market research - so-called ‘hidden needs analysis’.
He is an innovation management consultant to companies including Agilent Technologies, BOC Gases, Bosch, BT, Draeger Safety, Kellogg`s, Hewlett-Packard, HSBC Bank, Rank-Xerox, Leyland Trucks, Unilever and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen.
