With this system you can do high volume activity-based costing faster and more easily simply because it copes better with manipulating large amounts of data.
We’re talking about ALG Software’s Enterprise Performance Optimisation (EPO) suite, now at v2.1, which deals right down at the transactional level for the real detail.
ALG has refined and enhanced several EPO features with new calculation options and the capacity to directly load high volumes of data into an Oracle EPO database. The direct data load is particularly beneficial for users analysing costs and profitability down to the individual transaction. At the same time the company has released its Unix version of the EPO suite on IBM AIX.
“When it only took twenty minutes to upload over a quarter of a million records to the application on my humble laptop, I knew we had made a significant step forward. In real life, with more powerful production machines, our clients are doing similar uploads in a matter of minutes, so manipulating millions of transactions is now a piece of cake,” says Mike Sherratt, ALG’s CEO and founder.
