E.ON in the US says it has successfully implemented several utilities-focused elements of SAP ERP on-time and without major disruption.
Go-live was April 1 and the organisation says its new standardised software and harmonised and redesigned business processes – built with help from SAP and Accenture – are running well.
"The implementation went extremely smoothly," says Wendy Welsh, CIO at E.ON US. "The conversion process took us only five days and did not show any major impact on the productive environment. Since the go-live, we have not seen any production downtime, which is rare with this type of project."
E.ON US owns and operates both the Louisville Gas and Electric Company and the Kentucky Utilities Company, which together distribute electricity and natural gas to more than 1.2 million customers.
Solutions implemented include SAP ERP, the SAP Customer Relationship and Billing for Utilities package and NetWeaver.
