French textiles manufacturer Filix, which has switched to SAP-owned TomorrowNow third party support for its JD Edwards OneWorld XE ERP systems, reckons it’s halved maintenance costs.
The company, which makes covered elastic yarn and narrow elastic fabric products for the apparel, textile and home furnishings markets, also gets 30-minute response time. And that’s across all its 23 suites globally covering distribution, manufacturing and financials, via TomorrowNow’s network of support engineers.
“At first, the idea of receiving guaranteed 30-minute response times and 50% cost savings on maintenance and support of our OneWorld applications sounded too good to be true,” says Hervé Vigneron, Filix IT manager. “Then TomorrowNow changed the way we thought of support services by showing us their support model.”
He cites TomorrowNow’s technical competence, experience support engineers, and reputation for timely support and bug-fixes were other key factors influencing its switch.
And he adds: “Now we can redeploy the cost saving onto other pressing projects and we have a named, primary support engineer who understands the ins-and-outs of our IT environment. Last, but not least, our primary support engineer is a native French speaker.”
TomorrowNow, which also supports PeopleSoft and Siebel applications (all under the Oracle umbrella) and provides part of the SAP ‘Safe Passage’ route away from Oracle, has now signed on 38 JD Edwards clients, including eight in Europe, since launching third-party support over here last year.
