Automotive and power semiconductor components manufacturer Floform, says it has selected Force 9 Business Solutions to replace its ERP system with Epicor Software’s integrated Manufacturing ERP solution.

Floform, a specialist in cold forming, has experienced massive growth in the last 18 months, and says it is expecting additional expansion, so needs the new system to improve communications with customers and suppliers while also bringing efficiencies to the factory floor. Its decision to invest £250,000 in the new system follows the award of a grant from the Welsh Development Agency, and the new system will cover finance, manufacturing, sales order entry and purchasing modules. It will also be linked to materials and resource planning, materials ordering and machine time planning. “To meet my needs and the need of our company, I must have daily, monthly and yearly overviews of sales and financial performance, with visibility of aged debt performance, all on a live ongoing basis,” says Floform commercial director Mark Langston. “Our production personnel [also] need instantaneous access to data, such as the availability of machines and product at any particular time. “Our current system has served us well, but the growth we have already generated, together with our plans for the future, has led to a pressing need for greater capacity within our IT network – and also a system that will give us more information instantly and remotely,” he adds.
