Silos and ancillary products manufacturer Brice Baker has selected the Epicor 9 ERP solution to replace a mix of systems across the company's operations throughout Bulgaria, Australia and the UK.
Steve Morgan, sales director at Brice Baker Group, explains that the deal is part of a three-year strategic investment and business transformation plan, aimed at supporting aggressive growth and expansion plans.
"Our current systems all work in isolation from each other, with files transferred around the business via email … to get orders from sales to manufacturing and finance," explains Morgan.
"Getting our business to number one in its sector is our goal, and we believe Epicor will help us achieve this and grow with us in the future as we reach out into new geographies," he adds.
Morgan states that the goal is achieving real-time integration and visibility of the business across sales, manufacturing, production, finance and project accounting, stock management and engineering. That, he says, will allow the company to make "great strides" in streamlining its operation and "quickly reduce lead times and stock inventory", both of which are key.
"Communicating and sharing information is very difficult with our current systems and definitely slows the business down," says Morgan. "It is prone to human error and duplication, and some processes, such as same day dispatch of spare parts from our breakdown spares service, are difficult to achieve. Epicor will help us overcome these challenges, and allow us to be a much more efficient business."
