Energy recovery systems manufacturer Bowman Power Group has selected the Epicor 9 ERP solution across its engineering, manufacturing, production, supply chain, sales and customer services.
David Lamb, finance director at Bowman Power, says that the company is moving from R&D to the early part of mass-commercialising its piton engine-improving products – and hence the new system.
"Our business is going through a transition period and we needed to find an ERP solution that could give us the professional systems to support our business, not only while it was relatively simple, but future proofing us as we grow significantly over the next three years," says Lamb .
"As an implementation rather than replacement project, we wanted to ensure that the functionality of the system would allow it to grow with the business, but also to provide class leading tools here and now for our manufacturing and supply chain team," he adds.
He cites Bowman's engineering change requirements, which are complicated as the company is constantly refining its products to improve the amount of energy that can be recovered.
"Epicor excelled for us on the breadth of functionality available at the cost point," comments Lamb. "The solution is as rich as that of any of the other Tier one or two ERP companies, and has features for engineering change that the competition simply couldn't match."
