Fujitsu Siemens Computers has launched two new Primergy Dual Socket servers based on AMD Opteron CPU 2000 Series CPUs and offering better performance for SMEs.
RX330 S1 and Econel 230R S1 rack servers are the new machines, complemented by the Primergy Server Management tool, which enables organisations to monitor and control servers more simply.
“The RX330 S1 balances top-level performance, required availability and tightened IT budgets,“ says Jens-Peter Seick, senior vice-president enterprise servers at Fujitsu. ”Redundant components ensure the constant availability of applications.“
It can be used as either a stand-alone server or in server farms to provide more performance, storage capacity and optimised virtualisation, depending on usage. The server also has a wide scaling range for redundant power supply units and extra hard disks. It is prepared for the next AMD Quad-Core Generation.
Meanwhile, Primergy Econel 230R S1 is the first rack server in the series. An entry-level server, it delivers business class performance and scalability, with local storage as a stand-alone application server.
Key features include up to two Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors, up to six SATA or optional hot-plug SAS/SATA hard disks, 16Gbyte PC2-5300 DDR2 memory, RAID 0, 1, 1E, four PCIe and PCI-X slots, and iRMC as server management controller
Availability is May 2007.
