Despite some of the toughest trading conditions in over a generation, more than half (56%) of UK directors in manufacturing expect to continue investing in green solutions.
That’s chief among findings of independent research commissioned by manufacturing ERP specialist Infor. It also finds that although 57% report no return on investment from green strategies in the past year, more than 40% still feel they are key to cost reduction.
In fact, Infor finds that 56% of UK manufacturers plan to increase their investment in green technologies in the next 12 months.
Says Andrew Kinder, director of solutions marketing for Infor: “Pursuing a green strategy is a business imperative for manufacturers as they face up to increasing international legislative requirements. That’s why organisations continue to invest in green, even in the absence of a hard return.”
That said, Kinder expects green strategies “to enter a pragmatic, business-orientated era with, thankfully, a lot less greenwash”.
