Hatari Fans boosts production more than 30 percent

Wanavit Manufacturing reckons it has boosted production of Hatari electric fans by at least 30% since going live with Infor ERP SyteLine software.

Wanavit's IT consultant Vittaya Thanyasrisung also says that flexibility and real-time planning have been improved, while the system is better able to track costs and expenses, and is showing better quality control. In addition, he says that 'hidden costs' involved in maintenance have now been identified and eliminated by the engineering department, while the company has also been able to reduce staff overtime, despite greater production demand. And he adds that management now has more control over production and that the quality of fans has been improved, while the number of defects has been all but eliminated through quality control measures. Thanyasrisung believes that many of the company's benefits resulting from Infor ERP SyteLine, have stemmed from the ability of the company's IT team to customise the application, without changing its core code. He includes integrating quality control into production, creating its own version of planning, called 'shipment planning' or 'made to stock', customising logistics and delivery as well as tailoring promotions for traditional sales channels. Currently, the nine-man IT department is looking at using KPIs to introduce standards into manufacturing, using Infor ERP SyteLine to reduce scrap. Thanyasrisung says the system now tracks everything down to the payment of delivery truck drivers, and he adds that Wanavit manufacturing now has a much better picture of its job order planning and scheduling, and is able to quickly assess whether new orders can be accommodated.
