IT and management services firm Hitachi Consulting has acquired Celerant Consulting, which specialises in business operations consulting in a wide range of industries.
Hitachi Consulting president and CEO Phil Parr says this latest acquisition will enhance the organisation's ability to handle clients' entire business transformation life cycles, while also expanding its reach into Europe, and North and South America.
"Celerant already has a proven track record for designing and implementing value-based operational strategies for Fortune 500 companies on a global scale, and will therefore enable us to enhance the services that we can offer in this area," states Parr.
"As such, we are confident that this acquisition will enable us to deliver measureable, high value results, as well as sustainable benefits that will generate a strong return on investment for our clients," he adds.
Certainly, adding Celerant's systems and business transformation expertise – which spans the chemical, energy, industrial, life sciences, metals and mining sectors – to Hitachi Consulting's portfolio makes for a formidable organisation on paper.
And Parr says that, given the two organisations' clear synergies and, on the face of it, similar business outlooks, integration should go well.
As Celerant CEO Patrik Sjostedt puts it: "Celerant Consulting was founded on the philosophy that delivering results needs to be an obsession, and Hitachi Consulting clearly shares that same vision."
"We have delivered successful, sustainable change for the world's leading companies for more than 25 years, and look forward to working with everyone at Hitachi Consulting to maintain and exceed these very high standards."
