HP has seen a 50% increase in the numbers using its business intelligence services this year, as well as a staggering 32% increase in the business intelligence ‘mega-deals’ – projects totalling more than $1 million.
That’s in line with analyst Gartner’s recent survey results, which reveal that business intelligence is now in the top spot for technology spending priorities. It’s survey of 1,400 CIOs shows that business intelligence has had the largest increase in priority for two years in a row.
“In one year, we’ve significantly grown our footprint in business intelligence services and we will continue to expand our capabilities to be the partner of choice for businesses, says Terrence Ryan, information management leader, HP Services.
Examples of HP business intelligence customers include: MAVIR, the Hungarian power grid operator, now using HP for a data warehouse-based information system project to deliver real-time monitoring and forecasting of power and reserve requirements for consumer cost savings; and Telecom Italia, which is working with HP to design and implement an enterprise data warehouse to enhance marketing intelligence, collecting commercial provisioning, billing and traffic data.
This past year, HP has expanded its BI portfolio with: the acquisition of Knightsbridge Solutions LLC; launch of the HP Neoview data warehouse platform; development of a BI maturity model and complementary online BI Evolution Assessment; and the HP Integrated Archive Platform, which helps users to mitigate business risk associated with building e-discovery, corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
