German machinery manufacturer Huber SE says it expects to improve control over its project-based manufacturing and engineering when it goes live with £1.3 million worth of IFS Applications ERP software.
Georg Huber, CEO of Huber SE, suggests that the new system will also optimise business processes, so increasing productivity and reducing throughput times across the organisation.
He explains that the company – which serves the international wastewater treatment industry – needed a single, integrated ERP solution to replace multiple ageing systems.
Huber says the firm selected IFS Applications because the system provided the best fit, while the organisation also offered local support everywhere.
"We selected IFS Applications not just because it matched our requirements perfectly, but also because of the industry competence demonstrated by the IFS team," he states.
The firm is to implement IFS components for manufacturing, engineering, distribution, service management, document management, quality management, project management, HR and sales and service.
Existing systems will initially be replaced at Huber's HQ in Berching, Germany. Further sites are to follow, with go-live throughout Germany by the end of this year, and roll-out to subsidiaries worldwide in the second quarter of 2012.
"Having one single ERP solution will enable us to implement uniform processes throughout the group and give us the tools to analyse – which will enable us to streamline our processes and introduce uniform best practices company-wide," comments Huber.
