Hypnos gets into bed with Web Office Systems

Royal beds maker Hypnos has selected specialist Web Office Systems to supply secure web-based communications for its Princess Risborough and Long Eaton factories.

Hypnos finance director Bob Eastoe says that FuseMetrix will streamline links between the two plants, and give managers information they need for all aspects of the business more effectively. "We wanted something different that would meet our needs both now and in the future," says Eastoe. "Changing to a web-based system gives us that flexibility and offers many other advantages, such as lower initial charges and ongoing service costs," he adds. Eastoe explains that Hypnos had been using a locally hosted system since the early 1990s. "Things change very slowly day-by-day and it's easy not to notice how out of date a computer system has become, until you take a serious look at it," he says. Security was another reason Hypnos chose a web-based system – with all data and software stored and backed up off site on FuseMetrix's secure servers there is no need to buy and maintain expensive back up devices, he says. Eastoe says the system will enable managers to control every aspect of each bed's production, from processing orders and configuring the specification, to delivery, invoicing and credit control.
