A new partnership between aftermarket management software specialists Enigma and IT giant IBM should result in OEMs and operators of capital equipment benefiting from a comprehensive aftermarket software product that promises to increase your spare parts revenue, improve OEM-operator relationships and increase aftermarket services.
The new offering combines IBM’s e-business applications (WebSphere, Content Manager, SecureWay system and MQ-Series middleware) with Enigma’s 3C (content, collaboration and commerce) platform. The result is manufacturers will be able to create and securely deliver to their operator-clients an intelligent web-based application that combines parts illustrations, service bulletins, maintenance manuals and parts catalogues.
This leads to improved spares ordering accuracy and it keeps the application’s end users (mechanics and engineers maintaining and repairing the equipment) in touch with each other and the OEM through real time messaging. And operators can better plan maintenance activities, reducing the costs associated with equipment downtime.
“An increasing number of capital equipment manufacturers are understanding the value of a combined content, commerce and collaboration solution for maximising the revenue and customer relationship value of their aftermarket support chain,” comments Jonathan Yaron, ceo of Enigma.
Enigma has already built up an impressive list of clients in the manufacturing arena, including the likes of Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney, GE Aircraft Engines, Cummins Engines and MG Rover.
