IET (the Institution of Engineering and Technology) and Cisco are working together to promote professional development in the IT industry.
The objective, they say, is to address the global shortage of IT professionals by raising awareness of education and career opportunities through joint marketing activities.
Under the scheme, holders of Cisco certification will be eligible to receive fast-track entry to IET membership, which will provide them with exclusive member products and services.
“We recognize that the Cisco career certifications play an important part in raising professionalism within the sector,” says Robin McGill, chief executive and secretary of the IET.
“The IET is committed to increasing the level of proficiency and professional development in engineering and technology, and therefore our working together is an important development in supporting the advancement of technologists around the globe.”
As members of the IET, Cisco certification holders will be able attend IET-sponsored events, work with fellow IT professionals through local networks, access online libraries and take advantage of a variety of support services.
