The Department for Education, an official partner for the event, has said that the theme for this year’s National Apprenticeship Week 2025 is ‘Skills for Life’.
Headline sponsors for National Apprenticeship Week 2025 include Network Rail and the Army.
The week will provide advice and support to students, career changers, parents, schools and colleges, and employers. Several online events will take place, including discussions on the skills needed for a greener world, talks from the British Army, and apprenticeship webinars.
Industry Expert Insights on National Apprenticeship Week 2025
In response to this week, industry experts have provided their thoughts on what they hope this week will bring.
Kelly Becker, President UK and Ireland, Belgium, and Netherlands, at Schneider Electric: “Clean energy ambitions rely on urgent investment in manufacturing supply chains and the workforce, which requires a diverse, forward-thinking pool of talent to develop and implement effective solutions. Apprenticeships in the STEM sector are crucial to this effort, providing hands-on experience and bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world application to make a real impact.
“Some of the most talented individuals I’ve worked with have risen through our apprenticeship programme. For businesses, this is a game-changer – apprentices become skilled, loyal team members who are aligned with company goals, driving long-term growth and success. At Schneider Electric, we have clear workforce plans in place for apprentices to become qualified within five years, enabling effective workforce planning.
“We are now looking for more than 50 apprentices for our 2025 intake for the UK and Ireland, broadening our talent pool and opening doors for the next generation to thrive. Local initiatives like ours don’t just fill regional skills gaps – they future-proof workforces and support the government’s push for green jobs nationwide. By combining technical expertise with mentorship, Schneider Electric is empowering the innovators of tomorrow and securing a sustainable, brighter future for the STEM sector.”
