Instrumentation manufacturer Inficon, which serves the semiconductor and other industrial applications, has implemented Management Dynamics’ hosted screening service across its worldwide import and export operations to avoid illegal trading with restricted organisations.
Inficon makes the point that it’s not just about compliance with US and European export regulations. There are also heightened international security concerns, and the task of manually screening names and addresses of all trading partners (individuals and companies ) had become unsustainable.
Its new solution automates the screening process and enables Inficon to access up-to-date information to comply despite frequent amendments to restricted party lists issued by the European Union, the US and other international government agencies.
“By interfacing with our existing ERP system, Management Dynamics has allowed us to fully automate this time-consuming manual task, which has improved the efficiency of our global operations for export control,” says Lukas Winkler, President and CEO.
“They offered a fast implementation without any hardware or software ownership costs, as well as complete coverage of all sanctioned party lists worldwide.”
Management Dynamics provides systems and services for supply chain and logistics functions. It’s latest release is Supply Chain Visibility 9.0, an on-demand global, multi-mode supply chain visibility and event management solution that enables connection, collaboration and communication of logistics information among suppliers, customers and transportation companies.
We’re likely to hear more from this company – in part because it is now operating out of the UK, but also because hosted web-based SCEM (supply chain event management) systems represent one of the most powerful tools for taking lean thinking into supply chain trading and operations.
This one provides personalisation and configuration, search and reporting features, and the accuracy and ability to precisely control alerts.
