Infor helps manufacturers streamline shipping and logistics

The new module, which Infor developed with solution partner Pacejet, provides what the company describes as "enhanced shipping, warehouse and logistics controls for managing order fulfillment". It's all about helping to speed and simplify picking, packing and shipping processes, to reduce costs, eliminate errors and improve customer service, according to Jeff Adams, vice president of operations at Waukesha Bearings, who has implemented the system. "The shipping capabilities developed by Pacejet were the ideal solution for us, because they quickly generated ROI by reducing our costs, and actually strengthened our customer service by providing new shipping options and increasing transparency across our organisation." In brief detail, ERP SyteLine Shipping and Logistics uses integrated software tools to make its improvements: automating shipping steps, improving efficiency, lowering freight expenses and increasing visibility across functions and departments. Adams says the system has enabled his company to respond to requirements for special labelling, paperwork etc, so improving customer service. In addition, if users do not select their preferred shipping carrier or service, the system will automatically select the best option to fulfil the order.
