Neonlite selects Infor to illuminate manufacturing and logistics

Energy-saving lights manufacturer Neonlite Electronic & Lighting says it is implementing Infor SCM Warehouse Management Enterprise Edition and Infor SCM RFID to maximise efficiency and cut waste in manufacturing and distribution.

David Fan, senior group IT and systems operations manager at Hong Kong-based Neonlite, explains that the company already uses Infor ERP SyteLine to run its manufacturing operations, but is now creating a single, integrated system to aid inbound logistics, raw materials management and manufacturing work-in-process. “As an ERP SyteLine user for a number of years, it was a great relief to find that Infor had acquired additional supply chain management solutions that could help us upgrade our logistics processes and streamline them with manufacturing,” he says. “Our goal is to achieve a return on investment in two years. We can achieve this with the help of Infor’s solutions, which will play a key role in reducing material waste and improving production capacity through closed loop manufacturing and distribution processes,” adds Fan. It’s part of the firm’s WARE (warehouse management, automatic storage/retrieval, RFID and ERP) initiative. Fan says Infor SCM Warehouse Management will enable Neonlite to improve the management of production materials moved between its facilities and suppliers, while Infor SCM RFID will aid in shop floor management of inventory. Together with the automated storage and retrieval systems, the company will have a closed-loop logistic management solution that increases the utilisation of materials, reduces waste and, together with Infor ERP SyteLine, improves production capacity. The integrated systems reduce data duplication and provide visibility from raw materials on-hand to the finished product.
