ERP software conglomerate Infor has released Infor SCM Warehouse Management Business Edition, aimed specifically at manufacturing SMEs.
John Pulling, senior director for supply chain management at Infor, makes the point that many SMEs are confronted with the same fulfilment challenges as large manufacturers.
He cites in particular, the fundamental need to improve inventory accuracy, optimise work and task management, and maximise utilisation of warehouse space and personnel – seta against additional problems of longer supply chains and variable service levels.
“Infor’s solution is proven in some of the most demanding supply chain environments and we’ve leveraged this experience to create a business solution that is tailored to the needs of the growing SMB market,” he says.
“[The software] gives SMEs a compelling combination of rich functionality and rapid implementation, which translates into a quicker time to benefit and a lower total cost of ownership.”
What’s more, Infor’s service-orientated architecture (SOA) framework allows users to add additional modules, such as RFID, billing, and labour forecasting, he says.
With the sheer scale of Infor’s solutions in the supply chain arena – and an impressive record of adoption to-date, this is one to watch.
