Manufacturing business software giant Infor has now released its promised performance management software, PM Business Edition, aimed at helping SMEs with automated planning and budgeting.
Christina McKeon, director of product marketing for Performance Management at Infor, makes the point that most SMEs rely on spreadsheets, which are prone to data entry errors and lack reporting and collaboration functionality.
She says that to-date, planning and budgeting applications have mostly offered more robust functionality but have been too complicated and costly for smaller manufacturers.
“Infor PM Business Edition addresses the gap in the market for a planning and budgeting solution that provides the functionality SMEs need in a package that is easier to deploy and also scalable to meet their long-term growth objectives,” she says.
She explains that it allows companies to quickly model and test alternative business scenarios, and to create realistic financial and operational plans, using company-wide collaboration through web-based access and ‘what-ifs’.
“In today’s global environment, it is essential that small and mid-sized business have access to accurate and reliable information to understand how changes can impact the ability to achieve corporate goals,” she says.
“Infor PM Business Edition delivers on the SME need for solutions designed specifically for them with the capabilities and support to ensure their current and long-term success.”
