Infor SyteLine gets MyDay role-based portal

Manufacturers in the discrete production sector can now get the enhanced version of Infor ERP SyteLine, with its much-vaunted MyDay Web 2.0 user interface.

Other new features in v8.01, according to Kevin Piotrowski, director of discrete solution marketing, include better CRM (customer relationship management) and improved event management. "A critical enhancement to the solution is Infor MyDay, which takes ERP to the next level by delivering users more relevant data directly to their desktops, based on their individual roles," says Piotrowski. Infor MyDay takes the business data captured and stored by ERP SyteLine, as well as by other business applications, and provides relevant information in a single view, based on employees roles, he explains. As for the CRM extensions, Piotrowski says that manufacturers can now update information stored in the system to manage prospects and sales contacts. With greater visibility and access to customer information, users will be able, for example, to expand marketing and lead generation, he insists. Then on the event management side, manufacturers, the new system provides workflow, automation and real-time response to changing conditions. Piotrowski cites an alert that might notify an inventory manager when specific items fall below the threshold.
