Manufacturing ERP conglomerate Infor has now put its MyDay dynamic Web 2.0 user interface on general release, providing home page access individual users’ key work information.
Rory Granros, director of process solution marketing at Infor, explains that this is a free upgrade, based on Infor’s Open SOA architecture, for users of Infor ERP Adage 5.0 or above (mostly in the process industries) on active maintenance contracts – and that it’s a lot more than a dashboard.
Early adopters say it does make a whole lot of difference. “We view Infor MyDay as a key enabler in reducing the complexity of obtaining business information from a variety of sources and getting it into the hands of decision makers when they need it,” says Richard Langen, business system analyst for Nomaco, a global leader in thermoplastic foam extrusions.
“Integrating data from nine disparate systems around the world and subsequently presenting that information in a personalised manner, tailored to an employee’s role within our organisation is vital to our ability to thrive and compete globally.”
The point, he says, it that Infor MyDay delivers key real-time business information to users in a single interface on their desktops, enabling them to spend more time acting on that information, instead of gathering it.
Capabilities include predefined reports and graphic representations of KPIs, delivered in any format based on individual users’ functions, whether purchasing, sourcing, processing, accounting, or accounts payable. Infor says it has identified more than 150 function-specific roles, along with tasks and alerts to help guide business users through daily actions.
Says Granros: “Access to pertinent, real-time business data across an organisation is paramount to making better business decisions, as well as improving operations and customer service. Infor MyDay takes ERP capabilities to the next level by providing visibility into the ‘why’ and not just the ‘what’ of business operations – by filtering data by job function and relevancy and delivering it in a condensed home-page format.”
