Manufacturing business software giant Infor has today (29 March 2011) used the Maintec exhibition at the NEC to announce expanded asset management capabilities for its Infor EAM suite.
Version 8.5of its enterprise asset management software includes new functionality that strengthens fleet and transportation management, graphical scheduling and planning, and linear asset support.
John Murphy, director of EAM solution management, says that the new graphical scheduling planning board, for example, now includes advanced filtering across multiple weeks, with at-a-glance status indicators and a drag-and-drop approach, which enables schedulers and planners to refine schedules faster and more efficiently.
He also points to so-called 'energy star' benchmarking in the software, aimed at automatically maintaining ratings for buildings and equipment, and reducing administrative costs.
And he mentions EAM Connectors, which he describes as adding standard connectivity between EAM and other Infor ERP applications, to reduce interoperability costs. There are also, however, new connectors for real-time data devices to enable cost-effective condition-based, predictive and/or energy-saving maintenance programmes.
"Infor EAM has played a critical role in helping companies remain viable and strong during recent economic hardships by reducing and controlling costs associated with equipment and facilities," insists Murphy.
"The enhancements included in this latest release further strengthen the leading capabilities in the solution making users more productive and effective in the management of their assets," he concludes.
