Investment in forklift mast production
Truck manufacturer Cesab Material Handling says intelligent mast design is key to the truck's success and recent investment by its mast manufacturer has boosted production capacity.
Mast manufacturer LTE, located in Italy, designs and produces Cesab forklift masts. Investment in the past 12 months at LTE's factory (pictured) has included redesigning material flow to create a more efficient layout and support the implementation of JIT and kanban techniques – fundamental elements of the Toyota Production System, which is used to drive production throughout the group.Both LTE and Cesab are part of the Toyota Material Handling Group.
LTE also has a new oxi-cut material warehouse to feed four robot welding lines, and a new assembly line able to enable the business to make 15,000 masts per year in a single shift operation.
Cesab masts manufactured by now include two to four stage duplex, triplex and quadruplex configurations.
Cesab forklift trucks are avaialble in the UK through a 16-strong independent dealer network.
