Dr John Ryan, managing director of IDT, says that the new application is enabling his company to achieve everything from meeting delivery commitments to keeping track of orders. In brief detail, IDT utilises Infor's ERP Express to provide accurate and up-to-the-minute information about all aspects of its financial and production operations. As a result, customer requests for quotations are faster and more accurate, since current pricing information is always available, he explains. Similarly, IDT has better control of raw materials and parts purchasing, while cash is being freed up through more timely purchasing from suppliers and better planning, which is reducing investment in stocks and work-in-progress. "We selected Infor ERP software against several competing systems, because Infor and their partner Gameplan were prepared to listen to us and to adapt their offering to more closely meet our requirements," comments Ryan, "as opposed to trying to impose a predetermined view of what our requirements should be."
