Kitchen cookware manufacturer Essen is reporting successful completion of its Infor ERP Visual implementation, aimed at boosting productivity.
Essen IT manager Carlos Chimeno explains that the system has replaced a mix of non-integrated applications across production, finance and sales.
He says there were more than 50 interfaces and, as a result, many processes were manual, leading to inefficiency and lack of visibility across business functions.
That has been solved, says Chimeno, with all areas now involved in more productive operations, and everything from planning and scheduling, to visibility of inventory, supply and distribution, significantly improved.
Specifically on planning and scheduling, for example, Chimeno says Infor's software gives Essen new insights into production levels and requirements, enabling it to move to on-demand manufacturing.
"ERP Visual has enabled us to be more competitive as we continue evolving and growing," states Chimeno. "Two of our main challenges were for the system to reflect our complex production cycle and the integration with other applications", he adds.
