KTM integrates PTC's Codebeamer AL platform

1 min read

KTM, a manufacturer of sports motorbikes for on-road use, has selected Codebeamer as its standardised Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platform.

The deal extends KTM’s long-standing co-operation with Reading-based PTC and aims to centralise and optimise the firm’s engineering processes in both hardware and software development.

Two existing systems will be replaced with Codebeamer, initially for E/E and ePowerpack systems to improve cross-functional collaboration and accelerate the time to market for newly developed products.

In a second step, KTM plans to extend the new ALM solution to cover complete vehicles, making it a key component in its design and development processes.

"KTM's goal is to maintain and continuously expand our leading position in motorbike development. To achieve this, it is sometimes crucial to bring high-quality innovations to the market faster and the integration of Codebeamer into our workflows will help us to achieve this by implementing highly efficient development processes,” commented a spokesperson for the company.”

The introduction of Codebeamer is intended to further optimise internal collaboration by providing a uniformed platform for product and software development.

This eliminates the need for internal data exchange between different systems and should significantly increase the speed and quality of project implementation.

Christoph Bräuchle, Senior Vice President and General Manager of PTC's ALM segment, went on to add: “This deal reinforces our strategy to accelerate digital transformation in the dynamic automotive industry.

"It gives us special motivation to deploy our solution to support KTM in the development of its fascinating and innovative products.”
