Time is running out for delegates wanting to book online and get the early bird rate for the Best of British Manufacturing IT business conference at Haydock Park, near Liverpool. The discount offer closes on Thursday 31 August at midnight.
The event, taking place on 26 September, is aimed at operations directors and directors and managers of finance, IT, production, purchasing and design – business management teams wanting advice on how to drive maximum sustainable business and supply chain improvement.
Delegates will hear ‘warts and all’ lean IT improvement stories from 20 manufacturers, including Lotus, Bentley Motors, Red Bull Racing (formerly Jaguar Racing), Stannah Lifts, Stadco, Worldmark, Unipart, Deltron-Emcon, Cadbury Schweppes, Diageo and Sony.
Adrian Williamson, for example, engineering design manager at Bentley Motors, will explain how its digital product data management and validation system has been re-energised to take Bentley from a low-volume, niche manufacturer to a mid-volume luxury car maker by integrating styling, surfacing, engineering and production data.
Dave Balcombe, Group Lotus Head of Information Management, for example, will talk about this company’s experience of implementing the Dassault Systemes PLM suite, and the advantages gained from combining 3D design in Catia V5 with manufacturing simulation in Delmia and data management in the Smarteam PLM system.
David Lloyd, Stadco Group IT Director, will explain how his company implemented widespread real-time shop floor data collection, developed and deployed a voice-controlled warehouse system and implemented its chosen ERP system at 17 sites in the last 10 years – with the fastest implementation taking less than a week.
In all, the event will play host to 20 case study presentations in eight streams, covering automotive, automotive supply, parts & components, the process sector, project engineering, electronics/high tech, electro-mechanical and configure to order manufacturing.
