Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplier, AvantiGas, is launching a bespoke service for the forklift industry as it aims to tailor users’ energy usage.

The Complete Forklift Truck LPG Solution is designed to provide forklift operators and owners with advice on how to increase efficiency, reduce costs and boost health and safety standards. The company is dedicating a team of account managers to examine the needs of every department in a business, working closely to create the best solution. Following a three-point report into fuel and distribution needs, health and safety considerations and heat usage, AvantiGas will be providing tips on the most relevant products, installation and maintenance.

LPG produces significantly less carbon dioxide and air pollutants than many other fuels. Other advantages over traditional diesel-powered trucks include increased fuel efficiency, long-term cost savings and reduced potential for spillage. It also produces less noise and vibration than diesel trucks, and its high calorific content means it can carry heavy loads without losing power.

Commenting, Andrew Mann, commercial manager at AvantiGas, said: “AvantiGas has so much technical expertise in LPG and decades of technical experience, but this is the first time we have devoted that knowledge to the FLT market. It’s a very exciting step and one that could have a really positive impact on end-users.”

To mark the launch, the company have also released a free downloadable safety guide for forklift truck users, offering advice on how to stay safe and legal when handling LPG. The transport and storage industry alone accounts for nearly 60,000 work-related injuries and 1.4 million working days lost per year, so reminding users on how to stay safe is of paramount importance.
