LTH Castings to upgrade Infor ERP for automated EDI

High-pressure die casting specialist LTH Castings says it is upgrading its Infor ERP LN system to simplify its EDI and logistics processes via web technologies.
The Slovenian manufacturer, which serves the automotive industry and also covers machining, surface treatment and assembly in aluminium and magnesium, is additionally implementing Infor's automotive EDI and order and shipping management software, AutoConnect.
LTH IT manager Lado Tomše says that he expects benefits to accrue form integrated and streamlined business processes – including simplified EDI mapping and integrated customer order processing – when the system goes live in April next year.
Currently, the company is currently running Infor ERP BaanIV alongside severa; third-party solutions. Tomše makes the point that constantly changing requirements from multiple trading partners are a significant burden – and hence the choice of AutoConnect, which includes complex business rules to handle that particular issue.
If a customer mandates a change involving an EDI document, barcode label, bill of lading, or another requirement, this solution handles it automatically.
"With Infor ERP LN and Infor AutoConnect we will benefit from a fully integrated solution without complex interfaces or redundant data processing," says Tomše. "All our EDI processes, our logistic processes and the communication with our customers will be simplified."
