This year's stellar two-day conference on manufacturing business IT in the West Midlands will feature what looks set to be an inspirational keynote from Simon Noakes, operations director of Hozelock.
Noakes, whose team has been responsible for enviable cost savings, and business efficiency and agility improvements, says he intends to detail key success factors behind Hozelock's success – from implementing QAD MfgPro ERP to Kronos activity management software, as part of a major continuous improvement initiative at its Birmingham site.
Focusing on installing Barco Dextralog production systems on its extrusion and moulding equipment, he will also outline achievement in terms of improving cycle times, driving TPM (total productive maintenance) and assisting with investment decisions.
And he will describe how Hozelock is achieving equivalent goals with people and processes – with expected and unexpected benefits.
Other headline speakers include: Mark Goodwin, IT director at Coba International; and Sarah Cobb, business systems director at Filtrona Group; Steve Ching, IT manager, Hansatech; and John Routledge, IT manager, Drallim Industries.
Organiser Findlay Media describes the presenters as "inspirational speakers who have walked the walk". Richard Henley, event director, also explains that, as part of the event, delegates will be taken to world-class local factories to see for themselves excellent manufacturing business systems in action.
They will also be invited to attend one of four learning sessions, with 'deep dives' into implementing systems appropriate to various mixes of manufacturing/business styles and current challenges.
Being staged in the West Midlands on Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 June 2012, the event is aimed at team leaders and project teams running, or about to run, ERP, supply chain and production system implementations, migrations and upgrades.
