Manufacturing minister Mark Prisk has moved to become housing minister in David Cameron's reshuffle according to reports.
Prisk will be replaced by Michael Fallon, Conservative MP for Sevenoaks, WM understands.
It remains unclear whether Fallon will take on official responsibility for manufacturing in the move.
Portfolios had yet to be agreed, a DBIS spoksesperson said.
Prisk has served as unofficial manufacturing minister at the Department for Business since the Coalition came to power in May 2010.
Fallon is deputy chairman of the Conservative Party and was an education minister in the governments of Margaret Thatcher and John Major.
