McAfee releases first data protection offering with endpoint encryption

“Now enterprises can ensure that sensitive data cannot be used by those that are not authorised to see the data,” says Eric Sommerton, vice president, data protection business unit at McAfee. “The new solution is the first offering to truly protect businesses from the ramifications of data loss.” McAfee says its new product was created in response to the growing number of regulations placed on businesses, requiring them to ensure customer privacy and data confidentiality. The new solution, it says, protects data regardless of how it is used, stored, and accessed or where it is located. Users get comprehensive monitoring and protection of all communication channels, including email, instant messaging, file transfer, P2P file sharing, webmail and other applications. Most important, the inclusion of endpoint encryption protects companies and other bodies if a computer is lost or stolen – topical in today’s times.
