McLenaghan appointed VP at SGG

Dr Alan McLenaghan (pictured), managing director of Saint-Gobain Glass UK (SSGUK), has been appointed as vice president (manufacturing ) of Saint-Gobain Glass.
In his new role, he will have global responsibility for investment control, the global world class manufacturing programme for the glass sector, quality and logistics. He will also retain his position as managing director, and will split his time between visiting Saint-Gobain Glass plants across the globe in his new role, and continuing to forge excellent links with SGGUK customers in the UK, as well as leading the management team at Eggborough.
Alan has been with Saint-Gobain Glass UK since the start of construction at the Eggborough site in 1998 and, with his team there, has twice won UK Best Factory Awards. He led the Company through the start-up of the float line, followed by the introduction of the coating and laminating processes. More recently he has been instrumental in the business success of the company through his role as managing director, greatly influencing the company’s health and safety performance and leading the innovative Cullet recycle programme.
He remains a director of British Glass and will continue to represent the Saint-Gobain Group at the CBI as an active member of its manufacturing council.
