Micro-Apps expand business value of SAP solutions at Archean Group
Better customer service and newly optimised business processes are being reported by Indian conglomerate Archean Group, following the development of a micro-app by SEAL Consulting.
The SAP partner built an enterprise desktop notification (EDN) micro-app for Archean, which runs businesses from chemicals and mining to renewable energy, shipping and shipbuilding.
SEAL's deployment uses Google Gadgets technology to extend the information and business events processed by SAP applications and bring them to more users.
Users simply deploy a gadget front-end on the desktops to receive workflow and alert notifications.
For Archean, the benefits include: "greater efficiency, responsiveness and customer satisfaction". For example, the automated solution handles shipping order status and ETA enquiries, with no manual intervention. Previously, these had to be fulfilled via a five-step series of manual data searches and phone calls.
