Mobile app arrives for SAP Business ByDesign system

Now available on the Apple iTunes Store, this mobile version of SAP's mid-market on-demand ERP solution is available free to all customers deploying feature pack 2.5 for SAP Business ByDesign, launched in July, and requires only a user and password. The app focuses mainly on management and sales roles – enabling managers, for example, to approve, reject or forward items that require immediate attention, such as price lists and quote or payment approvals. It also provides for personalised mobile reports on company operations, while sales people get information on leads and accounts, as well as product availability and the ability to file sales orders online. "This mobile app for SAP Business ByDesign is an integral step in delivering greater value for all users and expanding our on-demand business," comments Peter Lorenz, executive vice president for SMEs at SAP. With the next version of SAP Business ByDesign, SAP says it plans to support other mobile devices, including BlackBerry, Android and Windows Phone 7 – as well as additional content.
