Feature Pack 2.5 for SAP's Business ByDesign SaaS (software as a service) ERP software suite, has now been released on general availability, with three new starter packages.
According to SAP, feature pack 2.5 delivers "significant customer-centric innovations", including real-time, in-memory analytics, support for mobile devices, a customisable user interface and increased flexibility.
It also has the lifecycle management capabilities necessary to support large volume rollouts and handles multi-tenancy, as well as customer- and partner-specific business extensions.
Additionally, the software is flexible, in terms of its user interface, reports, forms etc, as well as robust – using SAP's life cycle management system to maintain data and processes during upgrades.
As for the starter packages, these are predefined, focused subsets of the Business ByDesign suite, designed for as few as 10 users. They're available for CRM, ERP and PSP (professional service provider) functions for SME manufacturers.
SAP makes the point tthat they are ready to be deployed at fixed implementation prices, starting at eur 9,900. There's also a dedicated implementation methodology, as well as SAP's embedded e-learning, said to enable implementation in as little as three weeks.
"With the general availability of Feature Pack 2.5, we have achieved a major milestone," insits Peter Lorenz, executive vice president, SME solutions with SAP. "By providing this new release, we deliver substantial innovation to support our customers' business needs today and tomorrow."
And he adds: "The on-demand services for SAP Business ByDesign are operated on the most modern cloud infrastructure and allow for true volume business. We also expect the new starter packages to enable our customers to quickly adopt the services and realize immediate results on their path to an integrated on-demand suite."
The software is now available in China, France, Germany, India, the United Kingdom and the US.
