SAP yesterday (4 August 2011) announced general availability of its second release of the SAP Business ByDesign solution in 2011.
SAP Business ByDesign is now available for Australia and Mexico, and also includes language support for Spanish, with mobile support planned for extension onto Windows 7.
Peter Lorenz, executive vice president, OnDemand Solutions, with SAP, says that enhancements in the latest feature pack include more than 500 customer requested functions.
Key developments, he says, include customer contract management, support for managed services and improved automation for revenue recognition.
He also cites extended flexibility "through co-innovation", enabling partners and customers to adapt the solution to their requirements – with the latest release of SAP Business ByDesign studio expanding the approach and the range of options, as well as adding more customer- and industry-specific add-on functionality.
And there are more preconfigured integration scenarios, with, for example, automated procurement processes between subsidiaries and headquarters for fast, out-of-the-box integration with SAP Business Suite.
Based on a pilot programme in German-speaking countries during the first half of this year, SAP is now offering a global community platform in English for ideas and requests, with a Chinese version planned for later this year.
"With the second release of SAP Business ByDesign this year, we are taking another significant step in executing our cloud computing strategy," states Lorenz.
"We continue to gain market traction with SAP Business ByDesign, have expanded our ecosystem to 250 partner companies and welcome companies around the world — now also in Australia and Mexico — to experience the new release's usability and business value," he adds.
