Microsoft’s and its IT and service partners’ European Peak Performance in Manufacturing Road Show is coming to London on 3 and 4 May at the Business Design Centre, Islington. This business event follows a similar automotive industry summit in Munich and a general manufacturing forum in Milan, both staged in March. The London event is being aimed at directors and managers of manufacturing companies large and small, and, along with Microsoft, will be hosted by Accenture, Dassault Systèmes, Iconics, Ivensys Wonderware, Meridio, the OPC Foundation, OSIsoft, Panorama Software, Siemens Automation and Drives and TXT e-solutions. Although there will be an exhibition of the partners’ software, hardware and service offerings, this summit will be about industry issues and thought leadership on day one, followed by analyst briefings, case studies and technology and best practice seminars on day two. Keynotes include business evangelist Dr Patrick Dixon, chief economist CIPD Dr John Philpott, Prof Kent woods of the MHRA and David Balcombe of Lotus Cars. There is also a round table event chaired by Brian Tinham, Editor of this journal. Microsoft says its mission in manufacturing is to help industry anticipate, innovate and deliver world class products and services through visionary technology leadership. The Road Show is aimed at supporting that with experienced speakers able to address improving performance in everything from product development to operations, supply chain and sales and customer service.
